TAN ESSENTIALS FOR THE ECO-OBSESSED ft BELLABOX + ECOTAN

Bellabox has brought us a new installment of their popular limited edition boxes, this time curating a pack full of eco-friendly faux tanning products from Ecotan.

Ecotan is somewhat of a special brand in Australia for tanning, being the first company in Oz to produce a range of certified organic fake tanning products. They have a vegetarian sunscreen, vegan tanning and body care, and are also certified cruelty-free by ‘Choose Cruelty Free’. In other words, Ecotan will be your new best friend if you are a natural beauty and cruelty-free buff.

This one-off box retails for $59.95 with free shipping, including five full-sized products for a value of $134. Even though I’m not strictly a natural beauty person, I’ve wanted to try Ecotan for the longest time and no doubt there are others out there like me so this is the perfect opportunity to do so.

EXTREME EXFOLIANT GLOVE / $19.50

The perfect tan relies on the perfect prep, and Bellabox are making this perfect skin prep possible by including an exfoliating glove to prep your skin before going in with your fake tan. Bumps will be smoothed out, dead skin sloughed off and soft, youthful and smooth skin will be revealed to give you the best base for your tan. Not only that, it can also be used to rub off any old tan you want to get rid of. This glove is made with natural plant fibres and eco dyes.

Ecotan Invisible Tan

INVISIBLE TAN / $34.95

The Invisible Tan is one of Ecotan’s best-selling products and has been the recipient of numerous awards in Natural Beauty awards. It uses dihydroxyacetone (DHA) as it’s developing agent, derived from plant sources like sugar beets and sugar cane by the fermentation of glycerin.

Ecotan Invisible Tan

The formula is also quite nice on your skin by including aloe vera, avocado oil and rose geranium oil. They mean it when they say invisible, it’s not an indicating tan which means you have to be a little bit more careful when you apply it. But it’s more like a lotion than a foam or liquid, so in fact it’s easier to spread. My favourite thing about this tan is that it’s almost unscented, so no weird fake tan scent. Thank. You.

FACE COMPOST / $39.95

This product is a brand new release from Ecotan, and I loved it immediately just from it’s name. Like a green smoothie for your face, this formula contains ingredients like chia, acai berry, spirulina, spinach and aloe vera to recharge your skin.

Ecotan Face Compost Mask

Don’t be worried about the formula, it doesn’t have a particularly strong or unpleasant scent. It’s quite a thick and rich mask, and works it’s magic in 7 minutes. Just enough time for a glass of wine before washing off.

FACE TAN WATER / $29.95

Ecotan Face Tan Water

Tanning the face cannot only be a weird task to perform but doesn’t even last long since we wash our faces every day. I think this face tanning water is going to be a new favourite for when I tan! It’s a gradual tan for your face, hell yes. So not only can use it gradually to build up a beautiful glow but you can use it to prolong the tan you have already applied to your face. It’s a clear, colourless liquid and doesn’t feel heavy or sticky on the skin, and is easily customisable to reach your desired tan.

COCONUT DEODORANT / $14.95

Ecotan Coconut Deodorant

This will be great for people who don’t usually sweat too much, but for me as a hyperhydrosis sufferer, I NEED aluminium in my antiperspirants to avoid me swimming in my own sweat everyday. Being an all-natural product that avoids aluminium, this only acts as a deodorant to neutralise odours, and is not an antiperspirant to reduce sweating. If you are a little confused about the differences between a deodorant and antiperspirant, or you just want to find out more about my experiences with hyperhydrosis you can ready my previous post here.

However, something I am in the habit of is applying my antiperspirant at night before bed but then using a deodorant in the morning before my day starts. I find that’s a really good combo to ensure I not only reduce my sweating, but that any sweat produced has the odour neutralised. This particular deodorant smells like coconut and is soooo good for odours. I really enjoy it as a deodorant.

Overall this box ticks all the boxes for Summer tanning and care essentials, and will be especially useful for those who are conscious about natural beauty and cruelty-free products. If you want to purchase this edition, you can pick it up online at the Bellabox website.

  1. I’ve heard such great things about the Eco Tan brand. I love that it has organic ingredients, so it really is the safest way to tan. For me the natural deodorant is right up my alley, so keen to try it!

  2. This would have to be one of my fave bellabox collabs to date! I have been really curious to try this range and you’ve got me wanting to try everything especially the Face Compost and Face Tan Water x

  3. I’ve used several Eco Tan products before & have found them to be pretty damn good, except for their Coconut sunscreen which I found greasy (not to mention that the tinted version was 50 shades of wrong for my skin tone). I ADORE their Extreme Exfoliating Glove & am onto my 2nd one. Their new Face Compost mask looks interesting, but I’m good for face masks right now. I keep meaning to try their Winter Skin gradual tanning moisturiser, but being a tanning novice I’m scared I’ll screw it up somehow.

    1. The results are pretty natural for the invisible tan, so if it’s anything to go by the Winter Skin should be fine. Winter Skin seems to be the more popular product though! And being a gradual tanner it will be easier to control and work with for your desired result. The Face Compost is a new product that will start off the new facial skincare range they’ll be releasing, so there will be more skincare coming out soon by the sounds of it. I really like their products so far, and the glove is sold out on their website so it must be really popular as well!
