Having a bright set of pearly whites is a desire everyone has, but is something that seems out of reach to many people who cannot afford to have their chompers professionally whitened by a dentist.
In comes at home teeth whitening kits to rescue! Or do they? There are loads and loads of different companies now releasing teeth whitening kits to use at home, with many more still emerging. They come with the promise that their kits are a cheap, effective, easy to use and safe way of whitening your teeth at home so that you can avoid expensive professional teeth whitening.
It’s a real no-brainer that cleansing our skin is one of the most crucial steps in our skincare regime, so a system that makes cleansing a more effective and safe process is the ultimate tool for healthy skin. One technology that has gained huge popularity since its inception is the use of sonic cleansing appliances. So many people have bought into the hype of sonic cleaning brushes – but do they really know how they actually work or what makes them so beneficial for our skin?
I’m slowly becoming more and more of a lip product junkie every day, so when I received a gorgeous package of the Luminous Lipsticks* from SASH Cosmetics Australia, I was so keen to dive in and try them out. You all know I’m fairly passionate at finding Australian cosmetic companies who deliver on quality and price!
SASH Cosmetics is a brand spanking new Australian Cosmetics company, their first release being their range of Luminous Lipsticks. Their mission statement is to basically eliminate the hardships of finding high quality yet affordable cosmetics in Australia. Their lipsticks claim to be of a superior quality yet retail for only $16.95. They have 12 shades in their range, from nudes to mauves, deep reds and browns. They are paraben free, and cruelty-free, using only candelilla wax and microcrystalline wax. Perfect considering more and more people these days are making the switch to cruelty-free cosmetics.
I’ve been against shaving for as long as I can remember, purely because I did not want my leg hairs to grow back progressively thicker and darker over time. Of course, I have never completely avoided shaving (because let’s face it it’s definitely the most convenient form of hair removal)- but it’s generally my last resort and I usually put it off for a very long time (sorry boyfriend). I have myself to thank for the state of my current leg hairs – they are thin, light in colour and there is generally quite a good amount of time before my hairs grow back. There is no ‘secret’ behind this – but I will say it’s most probably due to the fact my most preferred method of removing hair is either waxing or epilating and has been for a long time (and if I’m honest I’d almost kill for laser!).
If you’re any sort of LUSH fan, you’re going to want to read this.
Introducing Oh Deer Sugar, a non-edible bakery that specialises in handcrafting completely vegan bath and body goods that look and smell like your favourite foods. They are an incredibly ethically minded store that sources high quality ingredients without hurting the environment, and NONE of their ingredients are tested on animals. It’s a relatively small company run by two (quite impressive) women who hand-make these goodies right here in Adelaide! They run both a physical store in the City, and an online store which you can find here.
Welcome to my next instalment in my ‘Brand Spotlight’ series!
I’m all for finding genuine Australian companies who are cruelty-free, good quality and better yet, affordable and accessible to the everyday consumer. One brand who has really gotten my support recently is Natural Glamour. They provide diversity in coverage, skin tone and levels of SPF in their products to cover all women whilst protecting them from harsh UV rays. They do this, so that we can protect our skin more effectively whilst radiating our natural, sun-kissed beauty, something that Australian women are very well known for!
Generally, I’m pretty horrible with committing to finishing products I’ve opened, because I get too excited about things I buy or receive that I just want to open up and try everything I own! However recently, I’ve really challenged myself to completely use up products I have opened, and to only open another product when I need to. Of course, this isn’t true for EVERYTHING. It’s pretty much impossible to only use up one product in category, and being a beauty blogger I do receive quite a few products for editorial consideration so I have a responsibility to open and use up products to create my content – but I’m trying to as best I can. It’s what people called ‘shopping your stash’ or ‘shopping your beauty cupboard’. It’s money saving – because you don’t throw out products that go old because you don’t use them up – and it’s also a more economical way to live.
