Welcome to my next instalment in my ‘Brand Spotlight’ series!
I’m all for finding genuine Australian companies who are cruelty-free, good quality and better yet, affordable and accessible to the everyday consumer. One brand who has really gotten my support recently is Natural Glamour. They provide diversity in coverage, skin tone and levels of SPF in their products to cover all women whilst protecting them from harsh UV rays. They do this, so that we can protect our skin more effectively whilst radiating our natural, sun-kissed beauty, something that Australian women are very well known for!
Generally, I’m pretty horrible with committing to finishing products I’ve opened, because I get too excited about things I buy or receive that I just want to open up and try everything I own! However recently, I’ve really challenged myself to completely use up products I have opened, and to only open another product when I need to. Of course, this isn’t true for EVERYTHING. It’s pretty much impossible to only use up one product in category, and being a beauty blogger I do receive quite a few products for editorial consideration so I have a responsibility to open and use up products to create my content – but I’m trying to as best I can. It’s what people called ‘shopping your stash’ or ‘shopping your beauty cupboard’. It’s money saving – because you don’t throw out products that go old because you don’t use them up – and it’s also a more economical way to live.
Innoxa is one of my favourite Australian affordable and cruelty-free cosmetic brands, and I totally feel like they aren’t spoken about enough. I fell in love with them back when I tried their 5-in-1 BB cream foundation, honestly that stuff is amazing. So I was absolutely over the moon to receive a few of their new releases, including their new VoluLip volume lip crayons which includes 6 shades that are perfect for Spring and Summer.
For as long as I can remember I haven’t had a lot of hair. I’ve mostly always had it long, but it’s always been very thin. I have that baby fine, slippery type of thin hair that’s hated among those who – like me – are unlucky enough to suffer from it. I know what you thick haired girls are thinking here though – ‘I wish my hair was thin’. We always seem to want what we don’t have. But for those lucky girls, this post will hopefully enlighten you to the dark world that we thin-haired girls live in, so read on and sympathise. For my sisters out there though, this is for you.
In the relatively recent years, hair straightening brushes have emerged as a potential rival for the traditional flat iron appliance to straighten our hair. We’ve seen many brands come out with their own versions of straightening brushes, and they can be much more reasonably priced than the traditional high end flat irons. But do they match up?
A few weeks ago I opened my emails to find an invitation that excited me to the ends of the Earth! The LUSH Rundle Mall store was reopening and was set to be the BIGGEST LUSH store in Australia. Right here in little Adelaide! Promote SA worked with LUSH to put on the media event. We were chosen to be the first people to see it, a night before it’s official opening day. I can’t wait for everyone to see it!
This blog post was incredibly exciting to explore and write, as I was reviewing one of America’s most loved drugstore brands, Milani Cosmetics. Milani Cosmetics is definitely hard to come by in Australia, and while some online cosmetics boutiques do stock some Milani there is a very limited product and shade range and stock levels are always low.
