Beauty Heaven Beautorium Haul

So it was that exciting time of the year again on Beauty Heaven, the Beautorium was here! The excitement of placing my order and then playing the waiting game has ended, because I’ve just received my order!

What is Beauty Heaven?

I’ve written a very detailed post about what Beauty Heaven is in the past and you can read up on it here if you want to know more. But, in short, Beauty Heaven is a internet platform for the news, how-to’s, reviews and competitions surrounding all things health and beauty. Beauty Heaven hosts thousands of members who contribute to the site daily in the form of forum posts, article comments and product reviews. It’s my go-to site when I want to know more about products I am considering on purchasing.

What is the Beautorium?

The Beautorium is another way for Beauty Heaven to reward it’s loyal members. In a nutshell, it’s Beauty Heaven’s exclusive loyalty rewards room where you can redeem your member points for awesome beauty products from supermarket brands to high end, luxe items.

The Beautorium is only open to those on a Silver membership level or higher, a way to ensure that the most loyal members are receiving the benefits for this generous program. You only pay for the shipping (flat rate of $10), and your beauty products are ‘purchased’ with your points you’ve accumulated from writing reviews, commenting on articles and participating in the forum.

Beauty Heaven allow you to window shop in advance, so you can see what products are on offer and create your wishlist ready for the big day of shopping.

My Purchases

Everything I received is pictured above. Just a note: the Garnier Micellar Water, Babor Firming Cream, Goodness Me Facial Scrub were all free samples that the girls at Beauty Heaven decided to chuck in to some of the parcels! Even more generosity!

Also, I incorrectly received the Maybelline ‘Master Brow Pro Palette’ instead of the Model Co ‘More Brows’. I would have been okay with this, but the ‘Soft Brown’ shades are too light for me. Beauty Heaven got onto this right away, and have organised for a replacement product.

Australis AC On Tour Cream Contour Kit in Light

I know that Australis contour kits have had some really mixed reviews, but I really wanted to try it out for myself. I probably could have gotten it in Medium because of my tanned skin, but I wanted it in Light just to be safe.

Initial thoughts on this is that it’s quite hard to blend out, but I am working on this! Another thought is that the shades are not as ashy or ‘grey’ as I would have liked contour shades to be. They are really warm. I guess this can be helped by the use of contour setting powders though.

Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser

I’ve seen some girls go wild for this product and I definitely had to get it to try out, so what a good time to get it! It’s a silicone based primer that is meant to blur out pores for a smooth base for foundation.

Initial thoughts are that it definitely lives up to the infamous Benefit POREfessional standards. I really enjoy using this product and I think it’s a great affordable dupe for the POREfessional.

Maybelline Superstay Better Skin Powder in ‘Sand’

I absolutely loved the liquid foundation version of this foundation, so I wanted to snap up the pressed powder version right away! It also just so happened to only be available in my shade, yay!

Initial thoughts on this is that the powder alone doesn’t offer too much coverage. This is fine for days that I spend in the lab office when I want as minimal makeup as I can without looking like an alien. I think it would be good as a setting powder but I haven’t tried this yet.

Designer Brands Longwear Matte Lip Gloss in ‘Stayput’

Again, a product I’ve heard really good things about and Designer Brands can make some seriously awesome products that can easily compete with higher end brands, so again something I really wanted to get to try out for myself. And this was a steal too!

Initial thoughts, this colour is soooooooo pretty. It’s a deep dusty rose colour and it works so well with my skin tone. It lasts quite well on my lips, however it does feel a little more drying then I would like. Wearing a balm with this is a must I think.

Did you take advantage of the Beauty Heaven Beautorium this April? If you did, comment what you received and if you liked or hated anything!
