90’s Inspired Autumn Look

Welcome back beauties!

Into Autumn and with Winter approaching, I’ve really been feeling khaki tones and metallic warm lips. It seems the focus is on warm reds and berries this season, but I’m taking inspiration from the decades of the 90’s in these cooler months with basic browns and khakis, so I wanted to show you all an Autumn/Winter themed look that I created with some products available from Adore Beauty.

The main products I used to create this look are:

  • Gorgeous Cosmetics 8 pan palette – Essential Shades*
  • Nude by Nature ‘Virgin’ Blush*
  • Napolean Perdis DeVine Goddess lipstick in ‘Thalia’*
  • Any foundation of your choice! I used the new Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation*
  • Claytime loose mineral eyeshadow in ‘Lime’
  • Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector in ‘Opal’

Base

After applying primer, foundation, concealer and bronzer + highlighter, I used the Nude by Nature Virgin blush on the apples of my cheek. This blush is a slightly warm tone blush but pretty natural. It has a beautiful, fine shimmer that adds a nice glow.

Eyes

Up next I moved onto the eyes. Started off with my brows using the ChiChi brow pomade and set with the Eye of Horus brow gel. For eyeshadow, this Gorgeous Cosmetics palette has all the essential shades, and even though I haven’t captured it well, the second shade on the top ‘Gold Digger’ is described as a ‘green brown’ and has a subtle shimmer to it. This shade was the base for my khaki lids.

I used a combination of the matte, mid-tone brown ‘True Taupe’ and the soft taupe ‘Smudge’ for my transition shade. The deeper brown ‘Fudge’ was used to add dimension to my eyes, focusing on the crease.

I then applied the ‘Gold Digger’ shade for the base of my khaki lid, adding some more intensity by using the E.L.F Cosmetics Mist and Set spray. The Claytime shadow in lime was added to the inner corners to add some extra greenish spark to my eyes. Whatever was done on the top, I repeated on my lower lash line, and smudged out my eyeliner for a smouldering look. I added some Ardell individual lashes on the outer corner of my eyes after applying some Rollerlash mascara.

Lips

To finish off the look, I wanted a slightly metallic brown for my lips. Naploean Perdis Devine Goddess lipstick in ‘Thalia’ was perfect for this look. It has a slight metallic sheen to it. It’s super easy to apply and comfortable to wear. I love this shade for Autumn and Winter.

Hair

My hair was super simple. I used my Evo Hair ‘Easy Tiger’ smoothing treatment to make my hair sleek, blow dried it and tied it back into a knotted bun. I took inspiration from Phoebe from ‘Friends’ for this updo. It has such a 90’s vibe to it and I really think it completed the look!

Final Look

I’m really pleased with the way this turned out. I’m loving my hardcore 90’s pose even more….

I’m definitely feeling the love on the khaki tones in this look paired with the brown lip, and I’ll probably be rocking variations of this look through the cooler months. I’d like to play it up with some different lip colours, and possibly add a muted berry tone to my lower lash line for a pop of colour. Overall, I’m pretty happy with the look and the products used to create them.

    1. Individual lashes are such a double edged sword to me. I find them harder to apply but love the look of them. So strange because every one says they are easier haha. I need to work on my technique but thank you!

    1. Agreed! I’m the same really but I totally wanted to switch things up which is why I chose to do a look like this. I’m going back to my roots as a 90’s baby! Haha

    1. I wasn’t sure about it either as some of the swatches looked different to each other online but once on, I really did love it! Thanks so much! X

    1. Nawww thanks Laura. I wanted to change it up a bit with the khaki and brown. The lip shade is quite a unique colour but I think it worked well for the look. One I wouldn’t wear everyday of course but it’s good for a dramatic lip.

    1. Thanks Beth! I’m glad you think so! It’s not something I do very often but I love the way it turned out!

    1. Thank you so much lovely! I’m glad you like it 😊 I know reds and berries are in now but I wanted to pay tribute to the good old Khaki!

  1. Now this look is just stunning! I wish I could pull these colours off but with my skin tone I find it just looks too stark on me, but you look fabulous!

What did you think of the Rimmel foundation?

    1. Are you quite fair skinned? I think a lighter khaki colour would look amazing on fair skin tones! And I love the new Wake Me Up! It’s a shade too dark but I love the finish

    1. Thank you so much Shell!! I wanted the focus to be on the khaki eyes, so to hear they pop is just perfect to hear 😊

  2. Love everything about this Felicia – inspired combination of hues, and that lipstick is on my must have list. I’m crazy about khakis and olives for this time of year, they’re a refreshing change from the usual browns and golds. I also love coppery tones and deep teals when the chill hits xxx
